Howdy y’all!!

Here’s a small post about me not being around that much this week. I have a few posts planned (still need to write them, of course) but after having been sick for almost three weeks now, I’m terribly behind on household chores and…

               …decorating the shit out of it for Halloween!

I’m throwing a modest party this upcoming Saturday and my house still needs to be pimped from top to bottom. And let’s not forget my garden. I just ordered some awesomely creepy stuff to add to my mini-graveyard but I need to mow my lawn first before I can put up any headstones (much to the annoyance of the neighbourhood as always <3).

So you will definitely see less of me because I’m being a gardener, cleaner, and decorator this week. But not a doctor or a bricklayer! (that one is for the Trekkies out there ^^)

Who else is super duper excited and/or super duper late about their Halloween decorations?!

    I hope you’re feeling tons better Anne, it sure seems like you have your work cut out for you this Halloween. Maybe not mowing the lawn would add to the whole creepy vibe lol, ahhhh when I get my home (I live in a NYC apt) I will join you in these activities. For now, I am tasked with finding my tiny human a Halloween costume suitable in the scary department for Kindergarten…as if a 5 year old eating candy out of a pumpkin w/out a costume isn’t scary enough eyes wide open

      Meh, I’m always the one who has to do all that shit around here. I lay half a floor on my attic today by myself as well! Girl powah!! shows muscles aka wobbles bingo wings. Yes, I think we can establish the fact that mowing the lawn was a BAD idea, lol. Aaah, one day!! Hahaha! I hope you succeeded nonetheless ;).

        My hubby can’t be arsed to do much after he comes home from work, so somebody has to right?! 😀 Admittedly, he does make me dinner every night <3. Maybe I should start looking for a job at construction so he can be a stay-at-home-mom :’). Anyhoo, I definitely will!!! 😀

          it seems we have similar set ups Anne jeje, my hubby also works hard, comes home & cooks for shame I’m not good in the kitchen at all but I’m picking up on bits here & there lol. A construction worker?!?! not home renovator/decorator/etc.? why limit yourself?!?! HAHA!

      I ordered a lifesize scary rubber butcher guy with a hatchet today :’). This can only mean pure awesomeness or failure! You’re not celebrating it at all this weekend?

          Hahaha, well, it’s a good thing I’m free on a Sunday…dun dun duuuuuun!! :’) Nah, I hope there won’t be any psycho clowns and stuff out there this weekend either to be honest. I just want to eat popcorn and watch a scary movie!

    Enjoy the Halloween! I don’t celebrate it, but I love looking at the decorations in the malls and stores. I might go to some Halloween-themed setups but it is a bit unlikely though as we are shifting apartments the next week.Getting stressed out (though happy and excited) thinking about all the work!!

      II sure will! 😀 I’m almost the only one celebrating it here as well, although it is gaining a little more popularity every year. Shifting apartments does not go well with partying for sure ;). I put half a floor in my attic today, got the decorations downstairs and mowed my lawn until I saw a dead rat. Happy, excited AND stress it is!! XD

          🙂 Just eating and watching movies basically XD. You know it ain’t no party unless there’s a lot of food involved. We all dress up (some more than others) and I turn this house into a haunted house for a couple of days. If the new decorations show up in time that is…otherwise, it’ll be a semi haunted house xD

    Wow we don’t really celebrate Halloween here, children don’t come for candy and nobody decorates their house (maybe a little cute pumpkin by the door but that’s all), so I really’d like to see how you do this Anne-style. Have fun decorating !

      Oh, same here! I’ve been trying to get people in this shithole in the mood for it for over 10 years now, but my house is still pretty much the most decorated one out here :D. One time, when I took my niece and nephew out for trick or treating, someone thought I was collecting money for the local gymnastics club >.>. I’ll make sure to take lots of pictures, thank you!!

          Hahaha, if only!! I needed to set a good example for the little ones eh ;). There was also a guy who just gave us a bag of chips and a pack of dry toast(jes), because he didn’t understand the concept but felt obliged to give something anyways 😀

      Hahaha! ❤ I promise I'll post a pic of me and the wig somewhere within the next 4 weeks ;). I already mowed the lawn last night, though. My decorations haven't been delivered this morning, so now I'm just grumpy Gertha, looking out of the window at my horrible neighbours who are working their front yard (lord knows what they’re doing, though). They look something like this:

      And I’m definitely not exaggerating here, which is the sad part. I haven’t decided what to dress as yet! I ordered a cool Zelda hoodie to go with my sword but my boobs are too big for it >.<. Exchanging it for a larger size (cries) means it won’t be here in time for the weekend. Are you going to dress up? 😀

    Halloween? You’re so great! While I’ve never celebrated Halloween, I hardly decorate my house for xmas… I mean, I have 3m of fairy lights, but they’re up all year round for the atmosphere! 😀 I suck at this celebration thing! 😀 But… I and we need to see them decoration pics! 😉

      Gasp! Do Irish leprechauns have wings now?! XD I’m coughing so bad for so long now that it feels like I’m living in Limerick a 100 years ago actually XD Haha, I’m great because I celebrate it? ❤ ❤ Hahaha, yes, the fairy lights are up all year here as well. Mostly because I can’t be arsed to bring them back to the attic every year ;). I’m still waiting for my decorations to arrive, sadly. Feckers. Guess I just need to put up my old head stones tomorrow. But I ordered new ones with moving skulls on it and such! 😥

          Aye, I need some half-naked Scottish guy to rub some herbal oil on my chest! (don’t know where that thought came from all of a sudden, I guess it’s because you’re back XD). Hahaha, I like hammering those gravestones in the ground every year :D. The more subtle decorations are somewhat less enjoyable to set up 😉

              Hahaha, gazes into the distance seeing my dog looking at me and smelling his farts. Love is in the air! ❤ Meh, no, I tried that once and my pumpkin got really mouldy after two days. Apparently you need to put in some sort of special spray, but fuck that. I’ll just put a fake pumpkin in front of my window 😀 Less risks of getting pumpkin soup as well while lighting a candle in it >.> (been there).

              No, I put on some angel wings on him one time and while it was cute, he looked really uncomfortable, so I took it off again after 10 minutes. He’s excused when it comes to dressing up 😉

              I can’t stand seeing that kind of shit either! Animals should only be dressed up if it’s good for them. Like, when my old dog chronically had fluid behind his lungs, we put a woolen vest on him if it was cold outside. He was a daschhound (?) crossbreed and his belly would get really cold because it was relatively close to the ground 😉
