Last Week on Inked Brownies

This cake is not a lie

caramelb

Inspired by ‘Like Water for Chocolate’ by Laura Esquivel, my love for all things pie, and my boyfriend(who reminded me there should probably be an Oxford comma after ‘pie’), I came up with the idea to include food into my reviews.
From now on, I’ll try out a new recipe with every book I read and post the result, pictures (and the recipe itself of course) along with my review. I didn’t refer to brownies on this blog for naught! Each time, I’ll try to choose a recipe that suits the book in some way, which won’t be easy in all cases, but hey, chocolate will suit every book am I right?!

I’m expecting it will go just fine when I think about how easy it was to link a special snack to particular series I’ve watched. For example, every episode of Twin Peaks should be accompanied by a nice slice of cherry pie. And I seem to have linked key lime pie to Dexter, after an episode in which he was searching for the perfect key lime pie for his dying friend.

Now a fair warning about the next 4-5 weeks: I’m not allowed to gain any weight whatsoever until then, because if I do, I won’t fit into my wedding dress anymore…
Meaning I’ll keep my recipes light and fluffy with a little less chocolate and calories if I can help it. AFTER my wedding however pops confetti shooter I’m going all out, because, let’s face it, I’ll be married then so I’m allowed to.

Do you have any special recipes you’d like me to try out sometime? Let me know!
