#SFATW: Souvenir Swapping!
Welcome to my fourth and final SFATW post! For those of you who are unaware of what this means, here’s a quick recap:
Souvenirs From Across The World (SFATW) is a feature created by Marie@Drizzle & Hurricane Books to get to know each other a little better, focussing especially on where we are all from, and share a bit from our countries, cities, cultures, traditions, writers, and authors while we’re at it.The main goal of Souvenirs From Across The World is to create a link between all bloggers, from everywhere, and to share a bit of the diversity that makes everyone unique on the blogosphere.
I was paired up with Stephanie@Teacher of YA’s Book Blog for some wholesome souvenir swapping fun. My package arrived this morning, and I’ve been taking some time this afternoon to shoot and upload this (awful) video of me unboxing the awesome box Stephanie sent me all the way from Michigan, USA! Please ignore all the gross sounds I’m making and my 8-nippled slippers, but just focus on the presents instead!
I didn’t edit this video (obviously) because I’m way too tired, so I might say some weird stuff in here. Or mispronounce Michigan 10000 times (okay, three) ^_^.
Perfect! I loved every min and I’m going to share on my blog!
The Vampire Teddy is from Nightmare Before Christmas! I love that movie. Lol.
The cards and bookmarks are all little touches from MISH-i-GAN. You were close. You said it right most of the time. I had a hard time too…there’s a lot of places here that are spelled all wonky but you would be able to say them bc of the HUGE DUTCH influence here! There’s Van Doekkers and Vanderloots and all that and I mispronounce everything all the time with the “oe”s over here.
Glad you liked it. Can’t wait to see yours!
Love from Mish i gan ❤️

Awwwe! ❤ Hahaha, I know! Every time someone says “What’s this?”, I burst into song :’). Let’s blame the being a senile tart to the pregnancy again eh (A). I KNEW it!! I looked up a how to pronounce it video on YouTube where this lady says MISH-i-gan 20 times. /facepalm
Ahaaa! Now THOSE I can pronounce XD. But I bet they pronounce it very differently over there. My ex-bf was from Canada and his last name is Van Herwaarden. Whenever he introduced himself to someone, I was like…WHAT did you just say there??? Silly Canadians.
oe=oo, but shorter 😀
I need to put all the stuff together in an artful way sniggers to post on my Instagram, but I’m dead today! Oooh! I received this: “Your item cleared United States Customs at 9:34 pm on January 3, 2017”. Guess that drugs dog was congested too eh? 😉 Muahahaha!

Amazing load of lovely bookish stuff! 🙂 And the video was great, especially when it’s obvious you’re suffering with some sort of hideous cold.
And that’s how I’ve always pronounced “Michigan” so I hope it’s right 🙂
Excellent cameo by your cat. Proving once again that cats will steal any scene they can!

I know right?! This definitely needed to be shared! 😀 Thank you! 😉 Apparently, it’s Mish-i-gan shakes head. Hahaha, for sure! I noticed he actually started licking himself at one point…in front of the camera. FOR. SHAME.

Lots of great goodies in the box! My favorite was the Irish Folk and Fairy Tales. I would love to read that one. I just took a DNA test last summer and discovered I am 41%Irish. Enjoy the gifts and I hope you feel better soon.

For sure! I feel so spoiled, haha :D. I saw that one on B&N’s website and just really wanted it because Irish mythology is the bomb! Oh my gosh, 41%?! That’s a lot! Did you know you had any Irish blood in you before taking the test?? Thank you!! :-*

No I didn’t know anything about my heritage because I am adopted. I am excited to celebrate St Patrick’s day this year 🍀

Oooh! That explains the testing! Haha, St. Paddy’s always seems like a lot of fun! And maybe you can teach yourself a few words of Gaelic? 😀

Hey Pooh (I’m keeping it nice huh), way to keep up the suspense.. I almost skipped some seconds, but I didn’t. What a big box with so many goodies ! The whole funko rage is lost on me but I loved that pink cover! And the bookmarks, and the one with your initial…. Also, your feet kind of scared me when I first noticed them ;-). Love seeing these unboxing videos!

Haha! I take that as a compliment! 😉 I know, it’s SO awesome! I’ve never had a box like this before! Even the subscription boxes are shit compared to this one! ❤ Hahaha, you don’t like my new slippers?! :’) They scare me too, to be honest. They’re supposed to match with my bear onesie, but just make me look like a monster instead! My dog thinks it’s feeding time every time he sees those 8 pink nipples walking past him ;).

Oeh you have a bear onesie to match with them? Cooool ! Hihi so funny that even your dog reacts to them. Great gift 😉

Yes, but it’s not very practical if you have to pee every half hour, so just the slippers it is! 😉

Dude! M IH SH – ih – g uh n 😘 Haha just teasing. Stephanie did an awesome job on the box! I lost it over your excitement for excrement… 💩💩💩 playing with the poo. But seriously, those nipple slippers, I have already said it.. saying it again, creepy!
You sound so congested. I am sorry ❤ This was fun though!

MEEEEEH! :’) She sure did! Hahaha, I couldn’t contain myself! XD I know right…I don’t notice it until I see them in the mirror or in this case, on camera, and I’m like…YIKES!!
It’ll get better ❤ I can already breathe out of one nostril again most of the time \õ/

THANK YOU for pairing me with Teach!! ❤ I have a feeling we’re going to send each other some more care packages. My next one will have fewer souvenirs in it XD (I seriously bombed that box with souvenirs :$). I hope seeing us participating in joy makes it all worth it for you :D. There’s even talk about wanting another edition of it up here in the comments! ❤ ❤ Thank you!! :-*

Lots of bookmarks! Some of these ‘luxury’ editions of classics are starting to appear over here at Waterstones. Not sure about the Frances Hodgson Burnett but they definitely have an Irish Folk Tales volume.

I believe there’s a Waterstones in Amsterdam as well, but the trip there and still having to pay 40 euros because they’re imported…well…poo. A visit to the UK on the other hand…strokes chin
