Bookish Bingo | Fall 2016

After seeing several people participate in this, I was like: I love fall. I love bingo. I love books! And there’s no better way to get out of a reading slump than a nice low-key challenge. Why don’t you head on over to Pretty Deadly Reviews and join in on the fun (if you haven’t yet, of course). If you’re not a blogger, you can simply print out the bingo card graphic and keep track of your books yourself with REAL stamps (oh yeah!). Or do it digitally as well, but where’s the fun in that? 😉

This bingo is for the months of September, October and November. I read relatively little which is why I’m super stoked about almost having a bingo already!

  3. It couuuuunts 😀 The bingo looks like so much fun, I wish I could participate. But I can’t. Too much other shit to do. Can’t allow myself to busy myself with more fun things 😦

    • YESH! I’m only participating passively for the time being. There’s no way I can add more books to my current pile just for this :D. Meh, fun things are overrated anyways ;).

  10. This looks seriously funky… I wonder can I quit my job and become a full time paid reader? 😀 hahaha

PS! Hope the flu fucks off! rawr!

    • Girl, I’m sure you’ve got a triple bingo by now already with all the books you’ve read since September 1st XD. Full time paid reader sounds like a dream job to all of us probably…sighs.
Thank you! Me too! [inserts picture of my snotty tissue collection on the bedroom floor]

  11. I keep seeing the bingo everywhere, there’s no way I’m not doing it next year! Haha, for Horror and/or College, you want me to send you Lolita? 😂 It works for both categories!

    • That’s what I thought! And then I was like…fuck it, I’ve already read enough books to fill up some of my card for now XD. There will be another one for the winter months! Maybe a nice distraction from the holiday ‘festivities’ for you? 😉 Hahaha, that bad huh?! XD I thought I could tackle several genres with 1 book at first btw, but then read the rules :3

Nice just one fall book away from bingo . Best of luck with both the bingo and the slump .

I wanted to do this , but I’ll be taking a long hiatus after one more book review . Hopefully you’d be done with the bingo when i end my hiatus 🙂

    • A long hiatus!! NOOOOOO!! How long is long? And thank you, but I don’t think I’ll get to completing the entire thing. Who knows, though! 🙂

Think there’s plenty of time for you to finish the whole thing if you wish to . So Go Anne !

            • Well, it’s true! I’m sure that keeping up all of this while being an intern is a very unfortunate combination, time wise 😦

  14. I also decided to do Fall Bookish Bingo. I’m posting mine tomorrow. I didn’t realize how many books I’ve read since September until I had to mark off my calendar. I was surprised how many I read. Crazy! I got one bingo so far and I’m working on two more. Go, Anne! Get that bingo! 🤗 You’re almost there.

  17. Wow! You def are close to having bingo there & there are so many great books being released this fall! You seriously had me staring at Amazon on a should I or Should I not give in & buy Bright Smoke, Cold Fire 🙈 they had ARCS of it at Bookcon but I missed them. It’s gonna happen Anne, that book shall be mine! Lol good luck on finding the right book to complete your bingo 😉

    • I know! All the books I’m reading now are going into different slots, though, because those are harder to fill. I mean, Sea Creatures?! I have to go with Magonia for that one! XD Omg, Lilly, Lilly, Lilly, you had the opportunity of getting a free ARC and you missed it?! Lol, for shame!! I’m sure you came back with plenty of other nomnoms, though. I saw Gretchen’s haul yesterday…YOWZAH! Thank you 😉

  18. You’re welcome, Sea Creatures is a bit difficult haha! Yea LOL I sure did miss it because I seriously didn’t have my wits about me smh. I had a 3 day pass to Comicon who for the 1st time ever would be hosting Bookcon in a smaller scale than the one that took place earlier in the summer in Chicago. I’ve never been to any of these events soOoO LOL I wasn’t aware of the tricks people (specifically bookish people) there to score ARCS have up their sleeves. Friday was my “you gonna learn the hard way” day smh, didn’t really kill it on this day. So on Saturday I showed up with a plan with my husband. I turned on all of the notifications on Twitter for all of the major publishing houses. Every time they sent out a blast for an arc giveaway or a time for a planned arc giveaway, we ran for it LOL. My husband was scoring them for Gretchen since she couldn’t get the Saturday ticket. On Sunday she & I went in for the kill LOL! I have my photos ready but I haven’t had the time at home to write the post, will do this wkd though 🙂

  19. HAhaha, I wouldn’t have a clue how to do those kinds of things either to be honest! Some people are just very straightforward and know these tricks indeed. But you learned from the Friday! Lol @ letting your husband run around :’). That’s so nice of you guys to score stuff for Gretchen as well. Damn, I’m behind on my blog hopping again to take a look at her part 2! I wish they had more events like that over here as well. But a gal can dream XD

  20. I feel left out now…maybe I should do this? I could see what I’ve already read since it started and fill it out? I already saved the card…
Hmmm. ::scratches head:: What do you think, oh wise one? Since you are older and wiser than me, apparently… 🤔

  21. Not sure how this boon bingo work. Romeo and Juliet with zombies that sounds different! I’m currently hosting Shakespearean blog party, if you want to go into more detail there if his it works.

  22. The way I think of it, Readathons are timed events, while Challenges are usually exactly that, challenges, with a set of tasks one needs to complete.

Of course, that said, Challenges usually have set times to complete them by, and some Readathons offer tasks, too.

So I guess they are essentially the same. But then again, there are a few “true” readathons (“just read!”) and a few “just-challenges.” Some of the latter are even “complete, or not, at whatever pace suits you!” 😉
